Summary: The Immigration Paralegal provides support to the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) accredited representative on staff with the preparation and filing of petitions and applications with federal government agencies. The Paralegal may assist in such tasks as: drafting filings and applications, preparing routine correspondence, researching immigration law and procedures and case management.

Summary: The Donor Relations Associate reports to the Development Director and is responsible for cultivating, stewarding, and expanding relationships between HUF and its supporters. Summary: The Financial Coach will support the project and activities of the integration between the Pathways to Citizenship and the Financial Capability program. The Financial Coach will assist the Financial Capability Service (FCS) Program Coordinator in delivering financial education for the citizenship classes provide at some of the Miami-Dade and Broward County public libraries.

Summary: The Grants Manager is a full-time position with responsibilities including research, grant writing, grants processing and participating in setting strategy to achieve goals. The primary purpose of this position is to create compelling Foundation and Government grant proposals for existing and potential funders. This position requires a person who has outstanding writing skills, self-motivation, resourcefulness, and attention to detail. It also requires a person who can develop relationships with potential and existing funders to facilitate giving and partnerships. HUF’s Grants Manager reports to the SVP and works closely with all departments (Programs, Finance, Development and Marketing).

Summary: The Housing and Financial Coach serves a dual role within two key components; the Housing program and the Financial Capability Services (FCS) program. The Housing and Financial Coach provides group and individuals coaching regarding financial issues, including thorough assessments and development of action plan to increase financial knowledge and obtain assets. The overall purpose of the position is to provide housing counseling and financial coaching to participants in assisting them to better understand, manage and take control of their finances in order to reach their individual goals and put them on the path to homeownership and self- sufficiency.

Summary: The Tax Preparer (TP) is responsible for income tax preparation at the VITA Sites. The performance accountability standards for this position require that the TP works to identifies potential tax credits and liabilities and ensures accurate and complete returns are filed in a timely manner. The TP plays an active role in completing tax forms in accordance with policies and in compliance with IRS regulations. This position is also primarily responsible for ensuring that the privacy and confidentiality of client information is always maintained and safeguarded during the entire return preparation process.

Today this nonprofit provides assistance through 12 programs and 30+ services, in four languages, to Broward's diverse community. Hispanic Unity remains the county's largest agency dedicated to the immigrant population, providing them with the tools they need to build a new life. In 2015, the agency served 17,000+ clients, from toddlers to adults.
